Edda Moser master class

Edda Moser SopranoEdda Moser has agreed to take over from Edith Matthis on the original vocal course as previously advertised, which will be given from July 8 – 18.

Edda Moser made her debut in 1962 as Kate Pinkerton at the Berlin Städtische Oper. After singing in the Würzburg Opera chorus from 1962 to 1963, she sang opera in Hagen and Bielefeld. Subsequently she appeared with the Frankfurt am Main Opera (1968-1971) before joining the Vienna State Opera. She also sang in Berlin, Salzburg, Hamburg, and other major music centres. She made her USA debut as Wellgunde in Das Rheingold at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in November 1968, and later appeared there as Donna Anna, the Queen of the Night, and Liu [9 seasons: 1968-1971, 1972-1975, 1979-1980, 1981-1982, 1983-1984; 110 performances; 8 roles]. Her last appearance there was in 1984.

Edda Moser maintained an extensive repertoire, singing both coloratura and lyrico-dramatic roles, being equally successful in standard and contemporary works. She also sang widely as a concert artist.
