Russian-Australian 22-year old pianist Nadia Koudasheva is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium (B.Mus. Hons Class I), studying with Phillip Shovk. In 2014 she was a prizewinner at the Australian Youth Classical Music Competition, a finalist of the Theme and Variations Awards, and performed at the Australian National Piano Award. Earlier, Nadia received the Vimpani scholarship, Gibson Memorial Competition 1st prize, and the CHAOS Special Purpose Grant. She was a prizewinner at the Moscow International Festival of Young Soloists (with Rachmaninov’s Concerto No 2), has played at the International Piano Academy Freiburg, the ANAM Piano Festival, the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, and recorded for Fine Music Radio. In her thesis Nadia explored Russian/Soviet transcriptions of works of J. S. Bach. She is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium High School and has had masterclasses with pianists like Boris Berman and Angela Hewitt. Her extra-musical interests include medical physics.
