LUCIA RIZZI

Lucia Rizzi – Debuted very young as Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Thanks to her peculiar vocality, Lucia Rizzi feels at home singing both mezzo and soprano repertoires in opera and chamber music (Cenerentola, Pietra di Paragone, Farnace, Oberto Conte di S.Bonifacio, Due Foscari, Attila, Falstaff, Norma, Manon Lescaut).

She has been invited by major theatres and concert series in Italy and around the world such as: La Scala in Milan, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Regio in Parma, Teatro Bellini in Catania, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Comunale in Ferrara and Modena, La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Opernhaus Zürich, Opern Haus Bonn, Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, Aldeburgh Britten Festival, NHK Tokyo, Opéra Montecarlo, La Scala Philarmonic Milan, Accademia Santa Cecilia Rome, Serate Musicali Milan, Musica Insieme Bologna, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Haydn Orchestra Bolzano, Auditorium RAI in Turin, Rome and Venice, Pomeriggi Musicali Milan, XXX Festival Spoleto, RTSI Lugano, S.G. der Musikfreunde Graz, Sarajevo Philarmonic, Minoritenkirche Vienna.

Lucia Rizzi has given many recitals focusing on German, Italian and French chamber music repertoires with the collaborations of pianists A. Specchi and R. Zadra: Unione Musicale Turin, Concert Series in Trieste, Amici della Musica Palermo, Scarlatti Association in Naples, French Academy – Villa Medici Rome, Società Umanitaria Milan, 50° “F. Busoni” Competition – Bolzano, Amici della Musica Padua, Auditorium del Carmine Parma.

She has sung under conductors Arghiris, Aronovich, Bychkov, Campanella, Chung, De Burgos, Halffter, Minz, Muti, Simonov, Sutej, Temirkanov and with directors Bussotti, Carsen, De Ana, Fassini, Pizzi, Zeffirelli.

She recorded Giuliani’s “Deutsche Lieder op. 89” for the musical magazine “Amadeus” (March-December 2008).

Education
After a bachelor degree in vocal performance, Lucia Rizzi attended several voice seminars and masterclasses with
teachers Erik Werba, Cathy Berberian, Paride Venturi, Janine Reiss and SergeWilfart.
She also attended a master course of “Vocologia Artistica” (Bologna University).
