Lixia Li – China

Lixia Li was born in Zhu Hai, China, and began piano studies at the age of six. At age twelve, Ms. Li was accepted as a student at the Xing Hai Conservatory, where the most gifted young pianists in southern China are trained. After graduating with the highest distinction, Ms. Li came to America to continue her studies, receiving her Bachelor of Music degree and Master of Music degree in piano performance from the Boston Conservatory.

She is currently pursuing her Artist Diploma in piano performance at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati as a full scholarship student.

Lixia Li’s competitive accolades include the Young Artists Competition of the La Grange Symphony Orchestra, the 2002 Concerto and Aria Competition of the Huxford Symphony Orchestra, 2007 Viardo International Piano Competition, 2008 Hong Kong International Piano Competition, 2008 Rachmaninoff Competition (California), and the 2009 Seattle International Piano Competition as well as the 2009 AMSA World Piano Competition (USA).

Ms. Li has participated in various music festivals including the Prague International Piano Masterclasses, Belgium International Piano Week, International Summer Music Academy in Leipzig, Amalfi Coast Music & Arts Festival (Italy), Brandywine Piano Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, Grandin Festival (Cincinnati), and the International Keyboard Institute & Festival (New York).

Ms. Li also enjoys chamber music and opera, and has collaborated with many singers and instrumentalists. She has performed actively as soloist and chamber musician in the United States, Hong Kong, China, and Europe in such recital halls as the Hong Kong City Hall, Xinghai Concert Hall, Guangdong Art Center Friendship Theater, Leipzig Gohlis Chateau, Belgium Maison de Wavre, Prague Jan Deyl Conservatory, Prague Villa Bertramka at Mozart Museum, North Kentucky University Greaves Concert Hall, University of Alabama Moody Music Concert Hall, and the University of Cincinnati Werner Recital Hall and Corbett Auditorium.
