Alyssa Callewaert, 21, is a recent graduate from Brandon University in Canada, completing her undergraduate with a Bachelor of Music with her major in Piano Honours.  During this time, Alyssa was taught under Professor Alexander Tselyakov.  Alyssa grew up on a beef farm north of Holland, Manitoba, a rural village of 400 people, taking lessons starting at age 8 with Mrs. Carole Helfter.  Growing up, she loved playing any sort of classical pieces, especially sonatas, and her favorite composer is Beethoven.  In her second year of University, she started to learn bassoon and has found a new love for this instrument as well.  She is currently taking lessons with Alex Eastley, the principal bassoonist of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
